Press Kit

In keeping with the long and rich cultural history of our Languedoc region and the Pays de Sommières, and so proud of its cultural and artistic mix, it’s a pleasure for our team of music enthusiasts to make their contribution.

Far beyond “shaking up the big festivals”, we’re committed to being ambassadors of a way of living together around music, while helping to create the intimate moments that make this possible in the Sommières region.

THE FESTIVAL

A musical festival between Nimes and Montpellier

Initially a two-person project, the Aspériales now brings together a team of around ten people, all bound together by this exciting project and the values it embodies.

It’s a unique format in the Pays de Sommières, the first intimate open-air musical event in a space dedicated solely to music and the arts. And all on private property open to the public.

The Festival The Asperiales ofSommières attracts a diverse audience, bringing together the joy of meeting each other and discovering diverse artists and cultures. These Asperiales encourage the creation of social links and the decompartmentalization of audiences in a cultural and artistic environment in an exceptional location.

THE CONCEPT

A colorful concept

At the beginning of the summer, the festival offers a quality stage on which international and local artists can showcase their talent with an eclectic line-up of music, in the heart of the village of Aspères in the Sommières countryside.

Bringing together cultural players in a unique local heritage venue, the Festival the Asperiales ofSommières brings music to places where it is least expected, thanks to its partners and sponsors.

COMMITTED CULTURAL PLAYER

A commitment to culture

To encourage cultural diversity and promote local producers, we open the doors of the estate to artists from all over the world to join in our musical theme days, while at the same time promoting a region rich in producers, since our partners and service providers come from local crafts and entrepreneurship.

CONCERTS

Emerging concerts between Mistral and Tramontane

Given the immensity of the artistic possibilities open to us, a fascinating musical research project has been carried out to complete the evidence of music in our Languedoc county.

In order to continue to use this art form as a lever for encounters and as a shield to protect us from the “entre-soi”, the concerts are a reason for inviting people from different social and geographical backgrounds to discover the Vidourle watershed around Sommières.

THE LOCATION

In the center of the village of Aspères, on a former wine and sericulture estate, stands the southernmost silkworm nursery in the Gard, south of the Cévennes. A privately-owned proto-industrial factory built between 1780 and 1820, it was one of the centers of silkworm production around Sommières.

With a 16-meter-long hard stage, facing the garrigue and the ancient 9th-century priory of St Pierre, (owned by the Benedictines of Psalmodi near Aigues Mortes)In addition to the scenery, the natural sound quality of the site provides an unforgettable experience for artists and festival-goers alike.

MUSIC PROGRAMMING

2024 – 2025 PROGRAM

Several choices were made. The choice to defend an artistic direction imagined off the beaten track, singular, pioneering and yet qualitative. The choice to promote music at festivals in a different way than with headliners, and to place discovery at the heart of the artistic approach for opening acts, remains essential to the emergence of new talent.

THE GREAT NAMES

The great names of today and tomorrow

As a result, we give carte blanche to songwriters and artists who are ambassadors for their local scene, so that we can work hand-in-hand (after listening) on tomorrow’s opening act line-up.

Notice to enthusiasts, But beware! In the end, the accuracy of their performance was decisive in their selection for the festival. After all, the only thing that counts is the quality of what we offer festival-goers.
